The National Museum of Transportation houses more than 70 locomotives and half of them are ‘one-of-a-kind’ or ‘sole survivors.’

Public Tours

  • Public guided tours are available on days of operation according to season.  Check Calendar Page for daily details.
  • Winter, Spring, and Fall tours are available on days that we are open at 10:00 AM and Sundays at 1:00 PM.
  • Summer tours are available Monday-Saturday at 10:00 AM and 1:00 PM, and Sundays at 1:00 PM.

No reservation needed!

Public Tours are not designed for groups of ten or more and/or children’s camp groups.  If you have a group of ten or more or a children’s group, please contact Group Reservations at 314-965-6885 ext. #2.

Group Tours

Group rates are available for groups of twenty or more.  To receive the group rate, payment is due two weeks prior to a visit.  Groups may request a private tour for $25.00 plus group rate admission.

Group Rates:

$6.00 per person (admission plus miniature train ride*)

If you would like a private tour, a non-refundable fee for a private tour guide is $25.00, in addition to Museum group fees.  Tours are at least one (1) hour.  There is a maximum of twenty (20) guests per tour guide.  Courtesy picnic tables are also available on first-come, first-served basis.  Grounds are handicap accessible.

To receive discounted group rates, groups must be twenty (20) or more guests.  Full payment must be paid via credit card at least two weeks in advance.

Our museum grounds are outside so wear comfortable clothing and sturdy shoes.  Our grounds are large and everyone will get lots of exercise as you explore transportation history at your leisure.

Summer Camp Group Rates:
$6.00 per person (admission plus miniature train ride*)

  • One adult teacher or chaperone per every ten children is requested
  • Picnic areas are available for snacks or lunch (first come, first served… no reserving)

* Rides are seasonal/weather dependent, please check the website for train schedule information.  If the miniature train is not operating during your visit, group members will be given a miniature train ride ticket for future use.
