Scouting at the National Museum of Transportation
We offer a wide variety of scout programs that can be self-guided or taught by a Museum educator. Badges can be earned at every level of scouting. Additional information on scouting may be obtained by calling 314-965-6885, ext. 6 during the school year.

Boy Scout Programs
All Girl Scouts
Brownie and Cub Scout Leaders can call 314-965-6885, ext. 6 to reserve the “Travel Case” or “Jr. Travel Case” for your group. Scouts will have a blast using educational tools as they complete an outdoor scavenger hunt on the museum grounds. They will make predictions, learn about transportation history, use math skills, read maps and follow directional instructions as they navigate around the park property. Each scout will be given a Scavenger Hunt and pencil. In the event of inclement weather the day of your scheduled visit, call 314-965-6885, ext. 6 to reschedule. No refunds will be given.

Brownie Girl Scouts
Introduces girls to requirements for the “It’s Your Story – Tell It!” Making Games Badge.
Complete your Museum Visit requirement with the “Travel Case.”
This is an outdoor activity. Please keep this in mind when choosing the date for your visit.
$6.00 per Scout – for the group rate when paid in advance. This includes Museum Admission and a miniature train ride.
$15.00 for “Travel Case” rental (credit card must be given for payment and security deposit. It will be charged $50.00 if the case is not returned or a minimum of $10.00 if items are broken or missing).
One case will cover 10 scouts, if more than 10 scouts, you will need to reserve 2 cases.
Full payment due at time of reservation.
Fee includes museum admission and miniature train rides during seasonal operation. Please check Museum’s website for current miniature train schedule.

The National Museum of Transportation is committed to S.T.E.a.M. Learning. On four Saturdays each year, we will provide activities for Scout to do that are science, technology, engineering, art, and/or mathematical in nature.
2017 S.T.E.a.M. Dates are:
– Saturday, April 8th
– Saturday, May 20th
– Saturday, September 23rd
– Saturday, October 21st
Scouts are encouraged to visit the Museum on these dates and participate in a S.T.E.a.M. Workshop that will be taking place. Drop-in workshops are from 10 am to 2 pm. The Museum is open from 9 am – 4 pm
On S.T.E.a.M. Days, the National Museum of Transportation Chrysler Turbine Car will start its’ engine! (Talk about engineering!) This is a very rare opportunity for your group. (Did you know the Chrysler Turbine Car can run on peanut oil ?) Engine start times 11:00 am & 11:30 am
Advanced reservations are not required. Regular Museum admission applies.
If you have 20 or more in your group, you may enjoy a group rate of $6 per person. This includes Museum admission and a miniature train ride. The group must be paid in full one week prior to the date of visit to enjoy the discounted rate. To make a group reservation, please call 314.965.6885 ext. #6.
All of our boy and girl scouting classes can be scheduled privately through the Museum Education Department at 314-965-6885, ext 6.

The museum may not be able to schedule your first choice date.
Make sure to allow enough travel time and schedule appropriately, groups arriving late will receive a shortened program.
Exploration of the museum before or after your scheduled time is permitted during museum open hours.
There is no charge for parking.
Picnic areas are available on first come, first serve basis for lunch or snacks
